Our Petite Golden Sadie joined our family at the age of two. She had a wonderful first owner – Brandon – who gave her a great start. She was a typical golden retriever personality, but with her own set of uniqueness. Her favorite warm weather pastime was to raid the tomato and strawberry gardens eating to her heart’s content. We would often see the flowers moving on a sunny day and then spot Sadie coming out with flower petals covering her curly red hair! Snowy days were among her favorites, as she would romp through piles deeper than she and come out with an all-white face. Chasing her tail, rolling around on the floor, settling in her favorite under the table places, tug-o-war, walking me to the mailbox so she could make sure the neighborhood was smelling ok, resting on the piano pedal as the students played, swimming in the lakes, camping, and treeing squirrels and chipmunks were all Sadie’s delights. Mostly she thought herself human and was the one who was first to recognize someone hurting and comfort them with a gentle lick or just being near. Her sweet eyes would be enough to know you were not alone. Thank you Sadie Grimm Nuttall for being the love of our lives. –Karen Nuttall
